Karen Hummel Kinsley has created costumes for Off-Broadway, national tours, regional theatres, industrials, museums. educational theatre and independent film projects. She designed the costumes for Elizabeth Swain’s Camille and The Who’s Tommy at Marymount Manhattan College. Additional design credits include The Mystery of Edwin Drood, The Light in the Piazza, Street Scene, Fiorello! and The Grand Hotel for the NYU Steinhardt Vocal Performance Undergraduate and Graduate productions. Recent projects include a national tour of The Great Gatsby for the Montana Repertory Theatre and CoMotion Dance Company’s production of Changing Balance/Balancing Change that was performed in Glacier National Park. Karen Hummel Kinsley retired as an Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts and Head of the Costume Design concentration from Marymount Manhattan College in New York City. She is a retired member of IATSE/United Scenic Artists Local 829.
